Use Ancestry Library Edition from home!

Ancestry Library Edition has extended access! Library card holders can access Ancestry Library Edition for free from home until JUNE 30th by logging in through the Morton-James Public Library catalog!

Free Books Online!

Five new amazing, free online resources for a variety of ages are now available on the Morton-James Public Library Catalog! You do not need to be a Library card holder or sign in to use these resources. Just find them under our “Electronic Resources” heading on our catalog here: https://mortonjames.biblionix.com/catalog/

TumbleMath: a collection of online math picture books with lesson plans and quizzes.

TeenBookCloud: Ebooks for grades 7-12.

AudioBookCloud: Online streaming audiobooks.

RomanceBookCloud: Free steamy, romance ebooks.

TumbleBooks: Animated & talking picture books for children.

Stream Films!

The on-demand film streaming service Kanopy is now available for free through the Morton-James Public Library. Library card holders can access Kanopy and sign up to start streaming films instantly by visiting https://nebraskacity.kanopy.com. Films can be streamed from any computer, smart television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku.

The viewing period is 72 hours for most films with extended viewing times for The Great Courses and films for children. Patrons are given 10 credits each month (no rollover) and can always see how many credits they have left from their sign in screen. Your Viewing History (when accessing from a web or mobile browser) will show any video that is still available to view.

Kanapy also just added a category of films that are available credit-free so they can be viewed without using your allotted 10 credits per month. Just click on the banner or heading for credit-free titles once you are logged in!

A new page will open. From there you can sign in. If you have a Mango account sign in with you email and password. If you do not have an account, you may set up an account by scrolling down to where it says Don’t have an account? Sign Up! Click on the Sign Up button to begin. You can then browse a multitude of languages to learn on the go! Spanish, Italian, French… even Pirate! And many, many more.

Ebooks and Audiobooks with your Library card with Overdrive!

Overdrive.com or the Overdrive App “Libby” allows you to check out ebooks and audiobooks with your Library card. To access the database you can go to the Overdrive website on your web browser and find the Morton-James Public Library using the feature in the upper right hand corner of the page. To access the database on your phone, tablet, or other device you must install the Libby app. The app will guide you through to set up your account. Your username is you Library card number–just the number no letters. Your password to begin is your phone number that is on your Library account.

Children’s Activities and Academic Learning with World Book!

To access early learning modules, kids activities, and other academic learning resources through World Book you must first go to the Morton-James Library catalog here: https://mortonjames.biblionix.com/catalog/ Next, log in to your account in the upper right hand corner. Your username is you Library card number–just the number no letters. Your password is your phone number that is on your Library account with no spaces or dashes. Once you are logged in you can scroll down on the catalog web page and click on the World Book icon under our Electronic Resources heading.

As always, you may place books, DVD’s, books on CD, and magazines from the Library collection on reserve to pick up at the Library South Entrance.

in the upper right corner log into your account using your card number (Just numbers, no letters) and the phone number that is on file on your account as the password. You may then search the catalog and place items on reserve! The Library will contact you to set up a time for you to come to the Library to pick up your items at the South entrance.

Help finding your next read is on the way! Novelist Plus and Novelist K-8 Plus is available to use from the Morton-James Public Library catalog. Search for books by genre, topic, even mood! Search any title and on the right hand side of the screen “read-alikes” will be listed to guide you toward more titles like it. Search your favorite book and see what read-alikes there are out there. Novelist Plus is for adult reading level and Novelist K-8 Plus is designed for youth books!
