The public is invited to a book reading and signing by author Preston Shires on Thursday, November 29, at 7:00 pm in the Kimmel Gallery at the Morton-James Public Library. The author will discuss his work and have books available for purchase for $10.00 each.

Preston Shires has a PhD in history from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is an instructor of history at Southeast Community College. He is the author of Life in a Casket, shortlisted for the Laramie Awards in Western Fiction, and Knight Time for Paris, an Athanatos Christian Writing Competition winner. In addition to these books, published this year, he is also the author of Hippies of the Religious Right, an academic monograph, and co-translator with his wife, Sylvie, of Andre Maurois’ Neither Angel, Nor Beast. Preston and Sylvie live on a farm just south of Peru, Nebraska.

Join us on Thursday, December 6th at 7:00 p.m. as author Joel Green presents the truths, legends and recollections surrounding Lincoln, Nebraska’s infamous and notorious Robber’s Cave.  Whether you have visited the cave in the past, or are learning about it for the first time, you will enjoy discovering all aspects of the cave’s fascinating past. This event is free, open to the public and will be held at the Library in the Kimmel Gallery.
